Thank you Xueling - this year I am very much into "doorways" and "passages" to other places, so your drawing was very appealing and inspiring!

Great! I always admire your portraits, you are gifted and are able to express the true art on canvases! Many thanks for your wonderful feedback on my small drawing "Untitled 2"!!!

This is the most beautiful painting of an eagle I've ever seen. FANTASTIC, JW!!
J W Baker replied:
Thank you Maris - That particular Eagle was actually painted on leather!! (hence the name)

Thank you Chad for the kind words regarding this work - I thought it turned out rather well being painted on leather.

Emery - you are welcome and thank YOU for your kind words regarding my art - it is very much appreciated. If you are used to Acrylics and just want more versatility, I suggest trying the new Golden OPEN Acrylics. I have found the water-soluble oils to be an easy 'bridge' from Acrylics to Oils and they have the added attraction of only needing water as your solvent...

Mr. Baker, Just to say "thank you" for your kind words regarding my "Visage One." I actually had to go to the dictionary and look up gestalt, so thank you too for teaching me a new word. I love your connection with animals and the mastery that you have of the oil medium. I've previously worked in acrylics and am now taking some oil painting classes. I find oil challenging to work with but I must say also that oil is a lot more "forgiving" than I thought. E. Lewis

It looks as though he is faceing a strong wind, great show of movement in this piece JW -- but like all your work, it is outstanding! . ........Joe

Bridgitte - the clarity of most of my imagery is the result of direct scans of the original artwork at high resolution - oddly, in the case of this Eagle, this was actually photographed with a digital camera as it was painted on a piece of leather...

I was wondering how you get the pitcures on so clear unlike my eagle if you check it out it looks very blurry due to taking a photo with a regular camera. I specialize in eagle portraits but i have never done one this well.

Ray - thanks for the kind words - Eagle was my brother's Spirit Guide (and he was also a Shaman and a Navajo apprenticed Silversmith)
